Degraded performance of the return platform

Unfortunately, we had a temporary outage this morning causing the platform to be slower than normal, and some consumers also had problems creating returns. Despite the fact that we have monitoring active on our servers, a background task was not automatically terminated after it timed-out. This caused an unnecessary peak load.

We are now in consultation with our hosting party to see how this can be prevented in the future.
